South Louisiana

South Louisiana has a unique culture and geography. Areas such as New Orleans and the fine plantation homes on the River Road have been well documented by skilled photographers. There has been much less documentation in the small communities and the Cajun country, in particular the local architecture and church yards. As I began traveling the region to document the damage caused by Hurricane Katrina, I realized that much of Southern Louisiana is only a foot or two above sea level, and could disappear with a single great storm. I have started documenting this area to create a record, hopefully one that will never been needed.
